Job Duties:
Use background in DevOps and automation to build media and broadcast operations from
ground up as well as develop a working prototype that captures the essence of what the project should be. Code and configure tools; and assemble and integrate technology across disparate platforms. Utilize understanding of systems, data structures, modern scripting and enterprise level languages as well as open source tools and leverage them to solve problems. Specific duties include: 1) Responsible for Dev Ops duties which involve analyzing the technology currently being used and developing plans and processes for improvement and expansion; develop, code, build, install, configure, and maintain IT solutions; participate in project planning meetings to share knowledge of system options, risk, impact, and costs vs. benefits; communicate operational requirements and development forecasts; test code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline and minimize errors; use configuration management software to automatically deploy updates and fix into the production environment; perform routine application maintenance to ensure the production environment runs smoothly; develop maintenance requirements and procedures; and recommend performance enhancements by performing gap analysis, identifying alternative solutions, and assisting with modifications. 2) Work with cloud, virtualization and container technology including developing and implementing technical efforts to design, build, and deploy AWS applications at the direction of lead architects, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics; participating in all aspects of the software development life cycle for AWS solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance; troubleshooting incidents, identifying root cause, fix and document problems, and implementing preventive measures; educating teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives and providing associated training as required; and employing exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity. 3) Work with cyber security and monitoring tools including installing tools (CrowdStrike, Tanium, Splunk, NewRelic, Data Dog and ScienceLogic) on all the running servers; configuring and validating on the Dashboard; auditing every month to make sure tools are running and reporting to Dashboard to alert in case of any suspicious activity; and creating customized script to monitor some specific requirement. 4) Work with UNIX environment including installing different flavors of UNIX OS; deploying kernel and security patch; hardening of servers; creating OS Image for specific requirements of application; installing, configuring and supporting different services like NFS, web servers and packages; maintaining local OS YUM repository; CMDB Maintenance; and performing monthly audit security patching and CMDB audit. Work with products including RedHat, Cent OS, Ubuntu, Debian, Suse Linux and Yum. 5) Data center build and maintenance duties, including HW installation and setup in on-prem data center; do power and other maintenance in on-prem data center; and in case of any HW failure, coordinate with vendor to replace the parts and make sure all servers are functional. 6) Maintain tools to support media environment, including using Axway Secure Transport SFTP Solution; One Identity Safeguard Authentication Services; F5 NGINX Load Balancer; Infoblox IP Management; and IBM Aspera Environment. 7) Documentation, reporting and training duties which include creating SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) for the team for each implementation and tasks to support environment; scheduling daily stand ups call with team to discuss operation’s issues; discussing upcoming tasks and projects in weekly team meeting; monthly auditing CMDB Data, AWS services, Tools, Backups; and providing training and sharing knowledge to team for new deployment, products and others.
Minimim requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, plus five (5) years of software engineering or related IT experience in DevOps CI/CD, including experience in cloud technology and virtualization.
In lieu of Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of software engineering or related IT experience in DevOps CI/CD, including experience in cloud technology and virtualization, will accept seven (7) years of software engineering or related IT experience in DevOps CI/CD, including experience in cloud technology and virtualization.
Experience must include two (2) years of OS deployment, administration, networking, performance monitoring/tuning, security hardening and troubleshooting; and team management
*Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in: 1) Experience using Chef, Git, Bitbucket, VMWare and DELL Vxrail; 2) Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2); 3) Experience in ITIL process including Incident management and Change management using Service Now, Remedy, ScienceLogic, New Relic and HP Open view; 4) Experience in tools such as Autosys Job Scheduler, Vital QIP and Infoblox; 5) Experience with security tools such as Tanium, Crowdstrike and Splunk; and 6) Experience with Unix Operating System using RedHat Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu and Solaris

Must also have at least one certification(s) in: RedHat Certified System Administrator, Sun Solaris Certified System Administrator, VMware Certified Professional or AWS Certified Solution Architect – Associate
