Job Duties:
Deliver end-to-end solutions from initial concept through finished solution in the area of automated build, deployment, SAML integrations, monitoring, server and cloud infrastructure and services. Manage applications and services in AWS Cloud using modern DevOps principals and tools including Terraform, Jenkins, Docker and Chef. Build, manage and support AWS core services including VPC, EC2, Auto Scaling, Elastic Beanstalk, ELB, Direct Connect, Route53, S3, Glacier, Storage Gateway, EBS, CloudWatch, IAM and RDS. Implement multi availability and auto scaling policies to ensure high service availability and fast content delivery. Create maintenance plans including backup/recovery/DR, and tune for performance. Setup various transfer solutions from Desktop and MediaCloud applications using Aspera Connect, Drive and Faspex. Collaborate with architects, developers and QA engineers for integrating various code scanning and automation testing tools within continuous integration and deployment pipelines. Analyze, Implement and audit host system and network security. Automate the detection of security violations, breaches, API key expirations and SSL certificates expirations. Automate various manual tasks such as change request creation for production deployments and Slack Notifications for monitors and deployment. Diagnose and remediate system issues as reported by external users, internal team members, or through various monitoring systems and lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and external technical teams. Integrate various tools such as Splunk for logs streaming and configuring alerts on error messages, Datadog for application monitoring and Sysdig for nodes monitoring. Install and administer firewalls OS. Deliver changes to the Linux platform and AWS services by leveraging the change control process. Communicate and seek approvals from business owners. Analyze functional and technical requirements, map documents and transform them into a comprehensive test plan. Provide support to a 24/7/365 operation and participate in on-call escalation chain as well as off-hour maintenances.
Minimum requirements:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate software engineering or related experience working in AWS, including experience writing Terraform or Cloud formation scripts; working with Docker and Kubernetes; and Linux/Unix administration
Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering or related field, plus three (3) years of software engineering or related experience working in AWS, including experience writing Terraform or Cloud formation scripts; working with Docker and Kubernetes; and Linux/Unix administration
*Specific skills: Also requires experience or knowledge in the following: 1) AWS technologies such as S3, EBS, EFS, Glacier, SQS and SNS; 2) Lambda functions, EC2, ECS, Route53, VPC, WAF, RDS, Aurora and DynamoDB; 3) Automation and configuration management using Chef, Ansible or Puppet; 4) Java application servers such as Jetty, Jboss, Tomcat and Websphere; 5) HTTP servers such as Apache, Nginx and IIS; 6) New Relic, Sysdig, App Dynamics, and DynaTrace; 7) CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI and Bamboo; and 8) Code and binary repositories such as Bitbucket, Git, Artifactory and Nexus
