Position Highlights
Responsible for providing on-site training, supervision and support to high school student interns participating in the Project SEARCH school-to-work program. The Skills Trainer serves as a liaison between the host employer, school, vocational rehabilitation provider and Sonoran UCEDD to facilitate the integration of persons with disabilities in the community work setting, including the worksite internship rotations and/or a competitive job. Assists students with transition services focused on preparing for post-school employment including summer and after school work opportunities, work-based learning experiences, and work-related skill development.

Duties & Responsibilities
Individualized training, supervision, and support for student interns at the host business worksite rotation or competitive job which includes: hands on job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accommodations, assistive technology.
Communicate effectively with Project SEARCH Instructor, employers, co-workers, family members, schools, and state agencies to problem solve issues related to training and employment at a worksite rotation or competitive job site.
Train and prepare students to work in a competitive environment post high school. Including travel training, grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing and behavior as they relate to successful employment.
Develop and implement job coaching and job development plans, including specific job analysis, task analysis and job matching activities with students to ensure preparedness for competitive employment.
Maintain client files accurately and completely while submitting necessary reporting material in a timely manner to reflect activity within site -- e.g., attendance, progress reports, incident reports, case notes, ect.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
Preferred Qualifications *BS in education, rehabilitation counseling, or other related field.
