To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will be responsible for developing, implementing, verifying, and testing firmware for FPGA-based systems that must operate in harsh environments and under demanding conditions. As an FPGA Firmware Engineer working on avionics systems, you will need to possess a range of skills and experience to ensure the safe and reliable operation of critical systems To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in developing firmware for FPGA-based avionics systems, as well as a deep understanding of FPGA development languages such as VHDL or Verilog. You will also need experience with FPGA development tools and methodologies, including simulation, synthesis, and verification. In addition, you will need to be able to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with hardware and software engineers to integrate firmware with other system components. You will need to be able to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop firmware requirements in coordination with systems engineering, hardware engineering, software engineering and subsystem owners Develop FPGA/ASIC RTL for motor control applications Perform verification using techniques such as simulation, SystemVerilog, OVM and UVM. Perform board bring up with hardware team Author tests, documentation, and participate in design reviews 10-15% travel to other Blue Origin locations for various meetings, or large-scale company events. Minimum Qualifications: B.S. degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in avionics development roles 3+ years of direct FPGA/ASIC design and verification work experience Demonstrated firmware development skills in real-time embedded systems Experience in complete development cycles from concept to qualification Working knowledge of DO-254, or similar standards Experience with signal processing and/or fixed point mathematics in...
