Pay Range$39,000.00-$48,800.00 Annual
This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors.
Johns Manville is on the lookout for a dedicated and analytical Data Scientist Intern to be a part of our dynamic team. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting multiple data science optimization projects which are integral to our business operations. They will work alongside experienced Data Scientists and cross-functional teams to extract insights from data and create optimization solutions. This position provides hands-on experience and a conducive learning environment for individuals looking to grow in the field of Data Science.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of machine learning models and algorithms to tackle business challenges and meet objectives.
Engage in data wrangling, data analysis, and data visualization to understand trends and patterns.
Collaborate with team members to integrate models into operational platforms and processes.
Participate in the development of data pipelines utilizing Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and other relevant technologies.
Assist in optimizing the performance of data retrieval, processing, and modeling tasks.
Contribute to the planning and execution of data science optimization projects to drive efficiency and effectiveness in business processes.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data used for analysis by performing thorough data cleaning and validation.
Assist in drafting technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in, or recent graduate of, a relevant degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or related field).
Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, and Spark is required.
Familiarity with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and expand data science skill set.
