Job Summary
The Assembly Cell Operator is responsible for assembling all pumps with excellent workmanship and efficiency.
Responsibilities
*Use manual dexterity to assemble small components.
*Perform operations and adjust testing equipment to maintain excellent efficiency and flow of work.
*Perform work such as fitting parts to close tolerances, adjusting for working and proper operation.
*Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
*Embrace IR Business Systems tools to accomplish duties and drive continuous improvements.
*Be aware and awake to company safety procedures and standards to insure individual and collective safety, in addition to avoiding unnecessary risk to oneself, co-workers, contractors, customers, and property. Be a stand for safety having the courage to call forth and report unsafe practices.
*All other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
*Two years of assembly experience preferred, but strong mechanical aptitude may also be acceptable.
*Good understanding of assembly operation.
*Capable of reading and following standard work.
*Must be capable of using special measuring equipment effectively.
*Capable of working from blueprints, drawings, charts, specifications, and/or verbal instructions.
*Capable of performing work such as fitting parts to close tolerances.
*Ability to lift a maximum of 40 lbs.
*Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
*Works within a manufacturing environment, with occasional exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals
Key Competencies
*High School Diploma or equivalent.
*Technical/Business School Certificate or other post high school training (2+ years' duration) a plus.
Union Relationship:
We proudly partner with District No. 8 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers with a closed shop, which means that all hourly employees are union members.
New employees are regarded as probationary for the first 60 working days of their employment.
After probation, the employee will join the union with an initiation fee and monthly dues.
