Job Description
NATURE OF WORK
Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in technical civil engineering both in the field and office, reviewing and verifying that project contract work meets prescribed standards; this position has department specific responsibility. Nature of Work(Illustrative Only) Inspects construction project work activities, documents and permits; schedules materials testing; reviews and approves contractor invoices to assure compliance with contract specifications and plans; prepares drawings, designs, plots, and plans of civil engineering projects; conducts traffic engineering research; examines plans for clearance with existing and proposed improvements following design standards; checks plans for clearance of substructures and existing or proposed improvements; prepares and maintains technical reports and estimates for engineering sites; performs design and construction contract management, and completes project documentation; produces and maintains technical records, reports, estimates and administrative records; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
