NATURE OF WORK
Under general supervision, performs legal clerical work in support of the operations of a Justice Court; this position has department specific responsibility.Example of Work
(Illustrative Only) Formats and types letters, memoranda, and legal documents; enters data into computer system and files documents with the appropriate court or entity; verifies and accept citations, verify appearance times for officers, and research specific case information; receives and receipts fines, bonds and other monies; assists the public, answer questions regarding cases and process mail; creates and updates cases and case files manually and in the automation system; checks documents for completeness; issues court processes; sets cases for hearing, trial or other court proceedings; provides requested information at the counter, in writing or by telephone; files court or office material; retrieves case files for use by the judge, staff, law enforcement agencies, attorneys and other authorized personnel; schedules, gathers materials and prepares agendas for various court hearings or other court proceedings; assists in with the court cases management, handles paperwork and insurances; pulls cases for court as required or assigned; reviews file; determines completeness of file folder; updates and prepares file for courtroom activities; records judgments, orders and other proceedings of the court; undertakes and completes tasks resulting from court activities; maintains absolute confidentiality of cases and victim information; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
