Job Summary

 

This position is advertised from the minimum to the mid-point hourly rate. Salary will be determined based on education and experience at the time of offer.


Under general supervision, the Enterprise IT Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and optimizing the organization's enterprise systems, ensuring they align with the Information Technology Services Department's key pillars: Lead, Innovate, and Secure; this position involves administering systems, defining technical requirements, and supporting enterprise-level and departmental systems while working closely with cross-functional teams and vendors to implement and manage secure, scalable IT solutions, this position has County-wide responsibility.

 

Nature of Work

 

(Illustrative Only) Provide technical support, design, install, configure, maintain, and perform system integration to our organization; execute key projects to advance technological capabilities in all workforce and public-facing delivery channels; installs, operates, maintains, and administers Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 operating systems and associated roles and features; administer and support Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Exchange, and data shares;  administers Microsoft IIS, including managing IIS Web applications and associated components; configures IIS Web Server security, including Authentication, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), and URL Authentication Rules; manage Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP, monitors systems environment, access, security, functionality, and utilization; resolves traffic, security, and access issues; assures optimum system performance, integrity, and maximum uptime;  takes proactive steps to improve service delivery performance when necessary; performs expedited root cause analysis and escalates the issue to the appropriate teams when necessary; researches and analyzes enterprise system-related problems in functional areas by evaluating workflows, interviewing employees or investigating work practices; troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues across virtualized and physical environments; design, install, configure, and deploy internal and workforce-facing servers within the Development, Staging, Production, and Disaster Recovery infrastructures; define and document best practices and support procedures; participate in system hardware migration and upgrade projects; conducts system needs assessment and requirements definition; performs feasibility studies and cost-benefit analysis; prepares and produces project proposals and reviews vendor contracts; develops technical manuals and documentation, tracks and documents all work in a service desk system; test and Deploy system security patches and service packs; ensure adherence to IT security policies, particularly around data backups, patching, and network security; conduct regular system audits to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities; effectively communicates project expectations and status to all team members and stakeholders, including business representatives, partners, clients, and implementation team members; participates in and occasionally leads regularly scheduled team meetings to identify installation issues and lead team members with problem resolutions; provide regular reports on system health, backup status, and resolving incidents or issues; perform regular backup tests and data recovery simulations and ensure readiness for unexpected outages; domain Name registry/purchase and SSL certificate purchase/maintenance; troubleshoot low to mid-tier types of databases; maintain information and data confidentially; provides on-call, 24/7 support as needed or required; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
