Job Description
Nature of Work (Illustrative Only) Responsible for cutting/edging grass, trimming trees and shrubs, and maintaining grounds; cleans and maintains exterior landscaping, sidewalks and parking areas of Library facilities; installs, maintains and repairs sprinklers and irrigation systems including pipes, valves and sprinkler heads to allow for proper watering of grounds and landscape plants; installs, maintains and repairs irrigation controls, timers, pump controls, flood-irrigation valves; operates powered equipment such as mowers, leaf blowers, sod cutters, chain-saws, and brush trimmers; applies pesticides for weed control and pest control (State-issued applicator license required); identifies and reports repair needs to Supervisor; makes minor repairs when appropriate; cleans and empties exterior trash bins; may sort and deliver supplies and materials; may assist custodial staff as needed; may paint and repair items as needed; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
