(Illustrative Only) Determines program eligibility in accordance with local, state and federal regulations and procedures; explains program procedures, regulations, processes and timeframes to applicants and representatives; conducts interviews and accurately documents information on residency, income and family situation in a computerized participant database; obtains, evaluates and documents measurements of stature, weight, hemoglobin; conducts nutrition assessments; provides participant centered nutrition education to participants individually or in groups according to age, category, health risks and family needs; assigns appropriate food package for eligible participants based on age, category, health risks and family needs; evaluates family needs for health care, financial and social assistance in order to make and document appropriate referrals; promotes breastfeeding and breastfeeding support activities; plans and participates in community outreach activities; works as assigned on a rotation basis in permanent and satellite WIC Clinics within Yuma County WIC’s geographic area; performs Certification Specialist duties and other duties as required or assigned; travel to community sites, facilities, and institution; maintains high standards of confidentiality; regular and reliable attendance is required; performs other duties as assigned.
