Description
Description: To develop in students the personal traits and professional
skills needed to perform as competent entry-level medical assistants.
The program provides students with knowledge of anatomy and physiology,
routine laboratory procedures, and patient care procedures commonly
performed in medical offices. Total Credits: 32 Total Curriculum Hours:
800 Total Number of Training Weeks: 34 (day classes)/40 (evening
classes) Competencies: office management: intro. to insurance &
coding, business writing & EHR, examination techniques, clinical
aspects of coding and billing, surgical procedures, pharmacology,
medical office laboratory procedures including phlebotomy procedures,
medical office lab procedures including EKG & UA procedures, and medical
specialty procedures. Total Program Cost: $14,094 (tuition: $12,800; registration fee: $150; textbooks: $714; uniform $165, Technology Fee $265).

Additional info: Background check requirements for licensing Other
requirements: high school diploma or GED and the successful completion
of a typing test. Graduates of this program are granted a certificate.
REFUND POLICY: Refunds are calculated on the tuition and registration
fee only. No refunds will be due on textbooks, uniforms and supplies.
Full refunds will be issued in the event courses/programs are
discontinued. Refunds for a cancellation are made within 30 days from
the date of cancellation. A cancellation fee is not charged if the
applicant cancels the enrollment within 3 business days of signing an
Enrollment Agreement, but prior to starting classes: Terms within first
10% of the enrollment period is entitled to a refund of: 90% less $100
cancellation fee; Terms after 10% but within the first 30% of the
enrollment period is entitled to a refund of 70% less $100 cancellation
fee; Terms after 30% but within the first 60% of the enrollment period
is entitled to a refund of 40% less $100 cancellation fee; Terms after
60% of the enrollment period is not entitled to a refund. Credentials:

Organization: AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants) as an
ABHES accredited medical assisting program. Stackable: Yes; Career
Pathway: Health Care Administration Degree. Portable: Yes, the medical
assistant certificate will be recognized within the healthcare industry
(doctor’s offices, hospitals, and other health care facilities) as proof
of the student having received the necessary knowledge and skills to
meet the expected job performance requirements as a medical assistant.
The certificate will also qualify the student to take the nationally
recognized certification exams (RMA, CMA, CCMA, NHA) offered by the AAMA
(American Association of Medical Assistants) and the AMT (American
