A. Course Objective: Professional Truck Diver Program
Description: Professional Truck Driving Diploma Program is an in-depth program which addresses the body of knowledge a driver needs to know, but teaches the procedures that will enable the student to become a skilled driver. Safety practices are emphasized. It is structured to provide a basic knowledge to operate a Class “A or B” Commercial Vehicle. Flexible training schedules are available to accommodate an individual’s needs.
Competencies to be achieved: The student will do classroom training to prepare them to pass the written tests to obtain his/her Class A CDL permit with Passenger Endorsement and additional Endorsements such as Tanker, Doubles/Triples and Hazardous Materials, Hours of Service, Map Reading, Trip Planning, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. The remaining hours of the course is hands-on instruction on Pre-Trip Vehicle Inspection, Backing Skills and On-Road Driving in various traffic situations. This course is designed to allow the individual student to continue the educational process with a paid externship with company the student accepted by. This will permit the student to gain valuable experience in the realities of the industry with exposure to greater variety in driving conditions while being evaluated and guided by the institution. Job placement assistance is provided with over-the- road (OTR) national carriers/companies that hire our graduates directly upon completion of training. (National carriers/companies screen by the following: background, motor vehicle driving record, and work history.) Total Cost of Program (include all costs to student including testing, licensure): $12,995

Arizona Motor Vehicle Division requires a Birth Certificate or Passport, Photo ID and Social Security Card to obtain a

Be 18 years or older. Must have an active Arizona Driver License. Must meet Department of Transportation physical requirements. Must be able read and speak English language sufficiently to converse with the general public; including understanding highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, the ability to respond to official inquires, and make entries on reports and records. Must be 21 to obtain Hazardous Materials Endorsement.
