Description

MIG2035 – Students are required to complete 1200hours (200 hours for already licensed cosmetologist) of training which consists of hands-on training, bookwork, group study, demonstration which will prepare them with the proper technique and skills to have success not only with the Arizona State Board Exams which follow completion of 1200 hours but also in the work place. At full-time it will take a student approximately 9 months to complete the program. Part time student have 12 months to complete.
Our instructors are well-seasoned professionals who teach both traditional barbering as well as current styling. Students learn clipper over comb and shears over comb among other techniques. Our program covers hair cutting, styling, perms, color, and hot lather shaves using straight or conventional razors, and facials. Students come away from our program with advanced barbering skills.
We also teach our students how to present themselves in a professional manner and how to effectively communicate with our clients. Arizona laws related to barbering and sanitation requirements are covered throughout the program so students have a strong understanding of what is required to be a licensed barber in the State of Arizona.
We have a diverse clientele. We see on average 1200 to 1500 clients a month. Students perform services on children, teenagers, adults, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Students also learn how to cut and style many different types of hair.
Our program cost includes tuition, a textbook, supplies and a student kit that contains the tools they will needed to a barber in the State of Arizona.
Total cost of the program is $9800 ($4500 if a licensed cosmetologist). There is a required $2000 down payment that is nonrefundable.
Our textbook is Milady Standard Barbering. The barber kit supplied to all student at the start of the course include clippers, shears, neck duster, combs, styling and cleaning brushes, mirror, blow dryer, talc, spray bottles, straight razor, Clippercide, alcohol, guards, aftershave, Massager, Mannequin and much more.
Other enrollment requirements are High School Diploma/GED/Minimum 10th grade completion (official transcripts), valid birth certificate, Social Security card and valid I.D. Students must be at least 18 years old and must complete at least 10th grade in high school. They must also be able to work in the United States. If the student is under 18 years old, a parent must sign their contract.
