A. Course Objective
Description:
Get comprehensive education and practical experience in nursing, and prepare to become licensed as a registered nurse.
Competencies to be achieved:
Upon successful completion of the PCC Nursing AAS program, the learner will be able to:
• Communication – Interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues to enhance patient satisfaction and health outcomes.
• Teamwork and Collaboration – Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care (adapted from QSEN, 2013).
• Professionalism – Demonstrate accountability for the delivery of care that is consistent with moral, altruistic, legal, ethical, regulatory, and humanistic principles as described in the Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Safety – Minimize risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance (adapted from QSEN, 2013)
