Instructional Program (CIP)
Description
The Certificate in Commercial Refrigeration prepares the student for a career in HVAC and refrigeration systems with an emphasis on commercial/ industrial applications. Topics will include safety and OSHA requirements, EPA certification, refrigeration theory, residential and commercial/industrial HVAC systems, and commercial/domestic refrigeration repair. Advanced techniques for electrical and electronic diagnosis and repair will be emphasized. For more information regarding the HVAC Refrigeration Commercial Certificate, see the HVAC webpage.
The HVAC program is offered on the Bullhead City Campus in Bullhead City and the Lake Havasu City Campus in Lake Havasu City.
Note:
- This course is a competency-based program and requires a grade of B or better in each course in order to progress to the next course or set of courses.
- For a course to be eligible for transfer, the student must receive a “C” or better. Acceptance of a transfer course is determined by the receiving institution.
- Competency Based Education (CBE) operates under the MCC Student Handbook and the CBE Student Handbook.
