Description
A. Course Objective:
Intent: To train students to become proficient employable dental assistants. This comprehensive accelerated thirteen week program which is very hands on in a real dental office setting, is followed by a 50 hour externship again in a real dental office with live patients, taught by licensed dentists.
The procedures include all phases of general dentistry, sterilization procedures, operatory setups, taking x-rays and four handed dentistry.
Our students are also taught front office procedures such as insurance verification, billings, giving estimates, answering phones
and training on dentemax software. We also offer a x-ray prep course and a coronal polish prep course, and pay for one attempt at the licensing exam offered by DANB for each course.
In addition, we offer free refresher courses and help with resume preparation,
and mock interviews, and provide job leads when available.
Requirements: 78 hours attendance, passing grades, 50 hour externship
Prerequisites: High school diploma or GED and at least 18 years of age
