Description

Do you have strong interpersonal skills and like to work with people? Working in the Medical Office Administration field you'll need to have good typing, spelling, grammar and speaking skills. You'll need to know about and understand insurance regulations and clinical procedures, as well as medical terminology and transcription.

As a medical records and health information technician, you'll organize and manage health information data. Your job will be to ensure its quality, accuracy, accessibility and security in both paper and electronic systems (EHRs). Medical office administrators use various classification systems to code and categorize patient information for insurance reimbursement purposes, for databases and registries and to maintain patients’ medical histories. Doctor's offices, hospitals and outpatient facilities make up the bulk of employers in this field.

NPC recognizes the demand for qualified medical support staff in northeastern Arizona's local hospitals, doctor's offices and clinics. Our program will teach you the skills needed to help you stand out to local employers.
