Description

This program is for students who are seeking a career in the automotive repair industry. It offers a combination of self-guided, computer-aided instruction, guided instruction, and hands on laboratory learning.
Students will perform numerous repairs on a combination of training modules, practice and live vehicles. All repairs and tasks will follow the ASE guidelines to prepare students to become ASE certified in eight areas of repair: electronics and electrical systems, engine performance, suspension and steering, brakes, heating and air-conditioning, engine repair, manual transmissions and axles, and automatic transmissions.

Students will then be encouraged to participate in the ASE testing process to obtain certifications in their area of interest.  Additionally, students are required to complete 4 hours of additional documented E-learning per credit hour of enrollment outside of classroom (in addition to homework, studying, and other regularly-assigned reading materials).

Upon completion of the program the student will receive an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Automotive Technology.  This degree, coupled with the ASE certifications, will enhance career opportunities in the automotive industry.

Preceding the AAS degree, students are afforded the opportunity to obtain a Certificate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology or Certificates of Proficiency.
