Description
A. Course Objective:
The Objective of this course is to provide with the basic skills and concepts in the field of ECG or EKG.
Description and Competencies to be achieved:
This program intends to capacitate individuals to work with patients undergoing ECG tests, and able to understand the anatomy of the heart, heart rhythms, causes for and treatments of different rhythms, and patient signs and symptoms associated with these rhythms. Students will be able to perform ECG and other cardiovascular tests as well as pulmonary tests.
Requirements: Students are required to be at least 18 years of age, have US High School Diploma or GED Certification and clean criminal background check. Those students that have graduated from a non-English speaking country will have to demonstrate English proficiency by taking the Wonderlic Test and achieving scores of at least 275 on the verbal section and at least 290 on the quantitative section.
Prerequisites: High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Timeline: 80 clock hours (approximately 5 weeks).
