Description

Nursing Assistant Program Synopsis A. Course Objective: Description: The
Nursing Assistant Program is 6 weeks program of full time education
which includes a total of 153 hours of instruction (as require by the
State Board of Nursing) The Program is designed to prepare students for
certification as nursing assistant. A Nursing Assistant is licensed
caretaker who assist in performing activities of daily living person in
skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, and doctors’ offices. Nursing
Assistants are supervised by Licensed Practical Nurses and Register
Nurses in the healthcare setting. The nursing assistant performs
delegated procedures that are commensurate with the Arizona Board of
Nursing Nurse Aide Practice Act. Competencies to be achieved:
Introduction to Nursing, Infection Control and safety measures, Body
Structure, Function and Vital Signs, Growth & Development throughout
the lifespan, body mechanics, positioning & transfers, Personal
hygiene and grooming, Nutrition and Fluid Intake/ Output, Wound, Surgery
& Respiratory Care, CPR & First Aid, Rehabilitation, Nursing,
Body Disorders, Digestive, Reproductive & Mental Health Disorders,
Developmental Disabilities& End of Life Care, Clinical Externship.

for working in the occupation: RCBH College of Health Careers does not
require Background check for enrollment for the Medical Office
Specialist Program. • Other requirements needed: Students need to submit
to drug testing on the first day of enrollment as per requirement by the
program. Students who test positive for substances are not able to
continue enrollment.
