Description

Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) work under the direct supervision of a physician or registered nurse and form an integral part of the health care team. Professional duties of the LPN include: client assessments; medication administration; providing therapeutic, diagnostic, nutritional and wound care support; collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team; contributing to the client plan of care; and providing client and family healthcare education. This program includes a comprehensive course of study that combines theory with clinical practice. The curriculum is designed to provide qualified individuals an opportunity to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them to become safe and competent practical nurses. Program completers are eligible to apply for the Arizona State Board exam to secure licensure.
