Description

A. Course Objective: Graduates will be prepared to pass the state exam and become Certified Caregivers.


Description: The Caregiver training course is approved by the Arizona Board of Nursing Care Institution Administrators and Assisted Living Managers (NCIA) and is 62 training hours in length. If successfully completed, the student may take the State Certification exam to become a Certified Caregiver. Training includes classroom lectures, either in-person or in a virtual classroom, and in-person skill development.


Competencies to be achieved: Competencies are required in all NCIA required topics including basic patient care and medication management skills.

Nursing Assisting: A Foundation in Caregiving, CGTI Caregiver Supplemental manual, CGTI Caregiver Skills Lab manual, and Arizona Assisted Living Facility Caregiver Candidate Handbook.
D. Provide a list of all supplies required for the program (even if costs are included in tuition):
Blood Pressure/stethoscope kit, and a gait belt

H. Refund Policy
Refund Before Commencement of Classes:
An applicant who provides written notice of cancellation after signing an enrollment agreement and before the first day of is entitled to a refund under the following circumstances:
• The student uses the refund toward payment of another class within 90 days;
• The student accepts the refund minus a $150 administration fee;
• A student may only reschedule a class once but failure to participate in the subsequent class will result in forfeiture of all funds paid to CGTI. 
No refund will be given after the commencement of class.
