Program Synopsis
Upon successful completion of this program AND successfully passing the state exams, candidates receive two (2) certifications.
A. Course Objective: The objectives of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA plus) program is to provide the student with the theory and skills required to pass the Arizona State Board of Nursing certification examination for nursing assistants, and the AZNCIA Board state examination for Assisted Living Caregivers.
The focus is on the dignity, infection control, communication and safety. Becoming a valuable, effective member of the health care team is stressed through professionalism and knowledge of legal and ethical issues, as well as skills and care proficiency.
Competencies to be achieved: CNA Plus Caregiver is approved by the Arizona State Board of Nursing (AZBN) and the AZ Nursing Home Administrators and Assisted Living Managers Board for graduates to sit for the state exams and earn Nursing Assistant and Assisted Living Caregiver Certifications. The course includes study in the areas of Body systems, basic nursing knowledge, nutrition, people skills, death and dying, skill labs and clinical rotations.
B. Total Cost of Program: $ 3,435
Includes all costs to student: Tuition, books, supplies, uniform scrubs (2 sets), BP cuff, gait belt, CPR/BLS certification, first attempt at state exams for Nursing Assistant & Assisted Living Caregiver, initial background check / health screening / drug screening (required by AZ State Board of Nursing), TB test (or x-ray), and Technology fee.
Prospective Student must pass an admissions exam prior to being accepted into the program.*

H. Refund Policy
Refunds will be issued within 30 days of the date of student notification, or the date of school determination (withdrawn due to absences or other criteria as specified in the school catalog), or in the case of a student not returning from an authorized Leave of Absence (LOA), within 30 days of the date the student was scheduled to return from LOA.
