Description

Course Objective:
The Objective of the CNA Advanced Placement program is to assist health care workers in obtaining a Nursing Assistant Certification with a significantly reduced number of hours.  


Who Qualifies:


Health care workers with at least one year of documented and paid direct care experience may qualify for this program. Examples of this include Caregivers, EMTs, Nursing Students. 



Description: The CNA AP program assists health care workers to obtain their Nursing Assistant certification (CNA)  through a reduced-hours program.  This is a Self-Paced program that students can complete on their own time; they must pass 4 knowledge Module quizzes, a skills competency demonstration, and complete 20-hours of clinical rotation, they must also pass a skills and knowledge final to complete the program.


Competencies to be achieved: Nursing Assistant Certification. Once students complete the program and pass the state examinations, they may apply for their CNA Number (no additional fee). If they choose to, they may also apply for licensure by completing an application, paying an additional $100 fee and submitting a fingerprint card with their application.

American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) Stethoscope and Gait Belt, Watch with second hand, closed toed shoes.

Additional information:



Background check requirements for licensing and background restrictions for working in the occupation: Pass a background check ran by ACE as a requirement by Clinical Site. No Additional background check required if student only applies for certification; If student wishes to apply for license, student must submit a fingerprint card for state to run a background check with application. 



Other requirements needed: 



  • Obtain a current NEGATIVE TB test (may be done while taking the course but before scheduled for clinical rotation)

  • Fingerprints for the Arizona State Board of Nursing (If student has chosen to apply for License)– These prints MUST accompany LNA application (Not Included in Tuition)


Refund Policy:
Refunds will be issued within 30 days of the date of student notification, or the date of school determination (withdrawn due to absences or other criteria as specified in the school catalog), or in the case of a student not returning from an authorized Leave of Absence (LOA), within 30 days of the date the student was scheduled to return from LOA.
