A. Course Objective:
Description: Prepare for a career as an Enrolled Agent by gaining the practical skills needed to take the IRS Special Enrollment Examination (SEE), a three-part exam that a student must successfully pass to receive the IRS Enrolled Agent certification. An enrolled agent is certified by the IRS to perform income tax preparation and provide representation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, and trusts.
Competencies to be achieved: Upon successful completion of the Accounting Enrolled Agent Certificate program, the learner will be able to:
o Analyze basic tax information and prepare tax returns for related to individual, corporation, and partnership taxation.
o Possess the basic tax knowledge foundation to build upon to pursue a career as a tax preparer or an EA.
o Use accounting software to carry out job functions.
