A. Course Objective:
Description: Gain skills and knowledge in the emerging autonomous vehicle technology. Learn the basics of computer hardware components, fundamental electronics, safety, health and environmental regulations, domestic freight transportation, and illustrate an understanding of autonomous vehicles.
In order to be fully admitted to this program you MUST HAVE A CURRENT CLASS A COMMERCIAL DRIVER’S LICENSE.
Competencies to be achieved: Upon successful completion of the Autonomous Vehicle Driver & Operations Specialist Certificate program, the learner will be able to:
• Demonstrate a basic understanding of computer hardware components.
• Demonstrate an understanding of autonomous vehicles, including levels
of autonomy, history, troubleshooting documentation, and ethics.
• Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental electronics and
electrical principles, including safety, health, and environmental rules
and regulations.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the domestic freight transportation
system.

Class A Commercial Driver License is needed to begin the program and be officially admitted into this program.

Other requirements needed: Industry typically requires 3 years commercial Class A driving experience as a hiring requirement. Any background issues/moving violations are on a case-by-case basis for employment
