A. Course Objective:
Description: Prepare to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of automated electro-mechanical, product assembly, process control, and product distribution systems that use programmable controls and other methodologies to accomplish system management. These systems include robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic devices. Includes preparation for National Institute of Metalworking (NIMS) certification exams.
Competencies to be achieved: Upon successful completion of the Automated Industrial Technology Level-2 Certificate program, the learner will be able to:
• Use quality and safety standards necessary for the operation, maintenance, and repair of automated equipment
• Configure, calibrate, and operate automated production systems
• Differentiate and troubleshoot automated production systems
