Description
Full Time Law Enforcement Training Academy- Certificate
A. Program Objective:
Graduates will demonstrate basic knowledge in law enforcement that will prepare them for an entry-level position in the field.
Description:
This program is offered only to individuals who have met the minimum qualifications for a peace officer applicant as specified by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST). To attend the academy, an individual must be appointed by a law enforcement agency; full time academy is only open to appointees. For more information regarding the Law Enforcement Training Academy, contact the Public Safety Institute. The Academy is comprised of two semester segments that operate parallel to the academic school year. Background check required.
Competencies to be achieved:
LET 160: LETA Academy 1 (12 Credits, 400 hours): An orientation and introduction to law enforcement as well as an overview of law and legal matters, patrol procedures, and traffic control.
LET 260: LETA Academy 2 (12 Credits, 400 hours): An orientation and introduction to law enforcement as well as an overview of law and legal matter, patrol procedures, and traffic control.

Arizona State, Outside Yuma County: $9509.00
Tuition (effective summer 2024): $2328.00
LET 160 Fee: $2049.00. Fee includes: uniforms, books, lab supplies, CPR mask, training supplies, fingerprint card, polygraph exam, program fee
LET 260 Fee: $500.00
Bus Pass: $12.00 ($6 per semester, Fall/Spring only)
Technology Fee: $120 ($5 per credit hour)
**Room and Board for out of county residents ONLY: $4500.00
