Description

Course Objective:

Unity's unique program has been structured to meet the demands of today’s students by teaching and training in a flexible and convenient two-part series of classes. With no prior experience needed, it is designed to prepare students to immediately enter the workforce as trained dental assistants. Using advanced techniques based on the modern practices of dentists, the learning experience ensures students receive the right skill set to succeed.

Part 1 Online Classes: Offered exclusively through Unity’s proprietary online student portal. Here, students will watch instructional training videos, guide themselves through lectures slides, and complete quizzes and tests. Once all online coursework has been completed with a passing grade, students will then move onto Part 2 Hands-on Training.

Part 2 Hands-On Training: Students will find familiarity with each of these classes as they work through the entire curriculum for a second time via hands-on clinical training. Each module is taught in an in-person clinical setting by a Unity Dental Assisting Instructor, ensuring the student is given multiple opportunities to learn the material prior to completing the program. Classes are taught in various parts of the dental practice with significant amounts of hands-on training. Unity Dental Assisting Instructors are seasoned Dental Assistants who have been vetted and worked in the field for many years.

Provide a list of all books required for the program (even if cost of books is included in tuition): Online custom curriculum (included with cost of tuition) contains all resources and information needed for students to successfully pass Unity's Dental Assistant training program. Also included is a free x-ray certification preparation course designed to help students study for and pass the Radiation Health & Safety exam, a nationally recognized exam by the Dental Assisting National Board.

Background check requirements for licensing and background restrictions for working in the occupation:
The RHS exam does require any previous felonies to be disclosed and the student must write a letter describing what occurred.
