Description
A. Objective: This course, NRA 104, is open to students seeking to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Caregiver. Completion of this course will allow the Learner to sit for the Headmaster Nursing Assistant Exam & allow eligibility to become certified in the State of Arizona as a Caregiver to work for long-term care or assisted living facilities.
Competencies: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
• assist patients with activities of daily living, including at mealtime, & walking and toileting
• check vital signs
• communicate effectively with patients, their families & health care teams
• report unusual occurrences or incidents to the nurse in charge
• maintain a safe patient environment
• assist patients with medication setups & administration
• care for a patient’s home & budget

• Physical exam report;
• Immunization record;
• Proof of negative drug screen (Pima staff will provide paperwork for drug screening)
