Description
Course Objective: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program provides students with the theory and skills required to pass the Arizona State Board of Nursing certification examination for nursing assistants. Once a student successfully completes the program and passes the state knowledge and skills exams, they can apply for certification (or licensing if they pay an additional $100 licensing fee)
Competencies to be achieved: The course includes study in the areas of Body systems, basic nursing knowledge, nutrition, people skills, death and dying, skill labs and clinical rotations. A Certified Nursing Assistant can obtain employment in health care settings such as hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, long term care facilities, home health, hospice and others. This certification is a stacking credential toward an LPN and/or RN nursing programs.

G. Additional information:
Background check, drug and health screenings are required to be accepted into the program per AZBN; Academy On-Demand will provide these in-house if student does not have access to a health care provider.
Student must be provide a Current NEGATIVE TB test or chest X-rays (if student does not have access to a health care provider, AOD will coordinate this for student)
Student must present a Gov’t issued ID to be accepted into the program and on the day of the state exam.
H. Refund Policy
Refunds will be issued within 30 days of the date of student notification, or the date of school determination (withdrawn due to absences or other criteria as specified in the school catalog), or in the case of a student not returning from an authorized Leave of Absence (LOA), within 30 days of the date the student was scheduled to return from LOA.
