Course Objective:
Description: Entry level course to provide the orthodontic assisting specialty skill for direct job placement involving orthodontic records, appointments, terminology, banding/bonding and assist in preparation for associated industry exams through DANB.
Competencies to be achieved: Orthodontic assisting
students interested in admissions must hold a certificate of completion in the ASDA General Dental Assisting Course (or) a Minimum of 50% studies completed in the General Dental course with a competency of 85% or above. Once admission requirements and completion of the orthodontic course have been applied, the student will be ready for industry certifications.

Refund Policy for stackable Credential classes offered see below (provide a summary of the Refund policy is not listed on the school website):
*Denied/no start applicant full refund. Student withdrawals have to be 3 days prior to start date with a written notice. No refunds will be given after the Student class on any stackable credential classes)
$250 Cancelation on last-minute cancelations or No-shows No Refunds after the student has started the class.
General Course refund policies are below as stated.
Procedure for withdrawal/withdrawal date: A student choosing to withdraw from the school after the commencement of classes is to provide written notice to the Registrar or the Director of the school. The notice is to indicate the expected last date of attendance and be signed and dated by the student. For a student who is on authorized Leave of Absence, the withdrawal date is the date the student was scheduled to return from the Leave and failed to do so. Enrollment for refund starts when General is started.
Tuition Charges: Tuition charges for the enrollment period (not to exceed 12 months) will be determined based on the student’s last day of attendance and the resulting percentage of the enrollment period completed. The percentage of the enrollment period completed is determined by dividing the total number of weeks elapsed from the student’s start date to the last day of attendance, by the total number of weeks in the enrollment period. Tuition charges and refund amounts for the enrollment period are determined by % of clocked hours:
If the student completes 10% or less, the school may keep 10% of the tuition charged and will refund 90%. (Refund policies do not apply to the stackable credential programs.
If the student completes more than 10% and up to 20%, the school may keep 20% of the tuition charged, and will refund 80%.
If the student completes more than 20% and up to 30%, the school may keep 30% of the tuition charged, and will refund 70%.
If the student completes more than 30% and up to 40%, the school may keep 40% of the tuition charged, and will refund 60%.
If the student completes more than 40% and up to 50%, the school may keep 50% of the tuition charged, and will refund 50%.
If the student completes more than 50% the school may keep 100% of the tuition charged, and no refund is due.(The above refund policies do not apply to the stackable credential classes.)
Books and Supplies: There is no refund for scrubs, equipment, books, printed material and supplies.
Special Cases: In case of prolonged illness or accident, death in the family, or other circumstances that make it impractical for the student to complete the program, the school may make a settlement, which is reasonable and fair, with intent for the student to complete the course.

Refund Policy
Please refer to the enrollment agreement for a detailed outline of the cancelation policy provided by ASDA. Students that are dually enrolled will be covered under the general dental assisting program refund policy. If a student is dually enrolled, they will receive a discount and be covered under the refund policy of our general program as a whole. If a student decides later (not dually) to take the ortho and does not attend, a $250 cancellation fee will apply for the seat hold.
