Description
A. Course Objective: Participants will learn how to create a sales forecast for their store using a step-by-step method. Then, participants will use this sales forecast as a starting point to create a complete store sales plan.
B. Description: This hands-on training program targets retail store managers/owners. Participants will learn how to create a sales forecast for their store using step by step method. Then, participants will use this sales forecast as a starting point to create a complete store sales plan. The sales plan will include setting the store’s main sales strategy as well as specific sales improvement tactics. At the end of this training course participants will have their store's complete sales plan that includes all their store's different resources. Teaches participants to analyze and forecast their store's key sales figures as well as key store performance indicators. Once these are established, participants learn to plan corrective actions and use specific tactics to improve their overall store performance. Additionally, the program introduces several forms that not only guide participants through the process but can be used back on the job.
C. Competencies to be achieved:
Explain what is forecasting and why it is important for a retail store.
Create a retail store sales forecast.
Analyze their retail store's key performance and profitability indicators.
Develop their retail store's main sales strategy and specific sales tactics.
Organize and plan their store resources efficiently.
Explain retail planning best practices.
Build a well-constructed sales plan to manage staff and resources that will minimize unforeseen problems and day to day “fire-fighting.”
Start thinking of potential causes that can directly impact store performance and consider potential actions to take to remedy the situation.
Create a cause and effect chain of events to test their store’s sales plan.
React, make decisions, alter plans, and take corrective action-based case studies.
