A. Course Overview: In an increasingly data-driven world, employers need people who can leverage data to solve problems.
The University of Arizona Business Analytics Certificate Program is a fully online noncredit professional development program that teaches you the fundamental data and business analytics skills that employers need. The course will also prepare you to take the Tableau Desktop Specialist certification exam.

Competencies to be achieved:
• Business Analytics Fundamentals: Learn how data can help you solve problems, drive growth and influence decision-making.
• Data Modeling: Determine the data set for answering key research questions. Understand application workflows, design tables, determine primary keys and use the right data types effectively.
• Accessing Data with SQL: Retrieve and summarize data with SQL. Develop SQL queries and learn techniques such as filtering, working with joins and using aggregate functions.
• Data Visualization and Technology: Design research questions and select tools, techniques and visualization types to highlight insights, and get hands-on with Tableau.
• KPIs, Business Objectives, and More: Develop business objectives and articulate their relationship to business performance.
By the end of the course, you will also be prepared to take the Tableau Desktop Specialist Certification Exam. Taking the certification exam is optional, but encouraged.
B. Total Cost of Program:
Tuition: $2,450
Tableau Desktop Specialist exam: Cost of exam is not included in tuition, and the exam cannot be purchased through University of Arizona Continuing and Professional Education. As of April 2023, the cost of the exam was $100.
