Program Description: Description: Heavy Equipment Operator Training
Program falls under Infrastructure, Construction. Students will have a mixture of online and hands on training during the program. The first 80 hours of training in online training & also has a live virtual instructor to help students. After completing the online portion of training then students will have 22 days or 176 hours of hands-on training with the heavy equipment completing this program in 7 weeks or 256 hours of training. Students will have a combination of Online with a virtual instructor & in class hands on training. Classroom Discussion, Computer based training, machine simulator. Skills evaluations, comprehensive and NCCER modules, pre and post Evaluations. Hands on training includes hand tools, power tools, basic rigging, construction drawings, material handling, utility tractor, Forklifts, skid steer, loaders, scrappers, dump trucks, dozers, compaction equipment, backhoe. Instruction includes: Classroom Discussion • Computer-Based Training • Machine Simulator • Skills Evaluation • 2:1 Student-Trainer Ratio • Comprehensive and NCCER Modules • Pre and Post Evaluations. Program falls under Construction. Competencies to be achieved: Orientation to the trade; heavy equipment safety; identification of heavy equipment; basic operational techniques; utility tractors; introduction to earthmoving; grades; and vertical mast sit down counterbalance forklifts.

Additional information: Student may take part of the course at home online within internet access or student may take part of the online portion in WTA’s computer lab, which is suggested for best results. WTA provides staff with knowledge of the course and will provide help to the student at any time. Background check requirements for licensing and background restrictions for working in the occupation: None.
Refund Policy: The cancellation and refund policy for these programs is as follows: If for any reason an applicant is denied admission by the institute, the applicant is entitled to a refund of all monies paid. Three-Day Cancellation. Other Cancellations: An applicant requesting cancellation more than three days after signing an enrollment agreement and making an initial payment, but prior to entering the institute, is entitled to a refund of all monies paid, less the registration of $200 and less the other associated fees.
