Course Objective: Description: Program falls under Infrastructure/Construction.


The program is Construction and Project Maintenance and Repair workers. Program is Section 11-9013 and 37-012. With 4.9% growth per US Dept of Labor. The state requires licensed technicians to apply chemicals before, during and after any construction project. Parks, Housing Developments, maintain the grounds with Licensed Landscape Chemical Applicators. New state law requires ALL construction companies that pre-treat, treat weeds, lawns, and maintenance.  Must have a State Licensed Applicator to apply the chemicals. This program prepares for the State Exams to become a Licensed Technician. Jobs in this industry will include Schools, Hospitals, Construction, Commercial Properties, State, City, County, Resorts, Property Management to name a few. The Arizona Office of Employment and Population Statistics (EPS) forecast an overall occupational growth of 7% for new jobs and the forecast of 24.7% of people returning to the industry or being promoted to Chemical Applicator Technician, which will increase their wages. That’s over 27,000 Arizonians increasing their wages with advancement to a Chemical Applicator Technician position. Maintenance continues to grow in demand. We train in detail for the Core Exam and C4 Right of Way Exam for National Pesticide Applicator Certification and License. Core teaches the laws and requirements to safely use and store chemicals. It also teaches proper paperwork reporting that is required. License is for Pest Management, including weeds, in the maintenance of public roads, power lines, pipelines, and other rights – of – way for other similar areas. The program prepares the student with all of the right terminology, pictures, study guides, hands-on demonstration, and tools to take the State exam and to work in the industry. The program is 120 hours self-paced with online or blended detailed training for the exam. This license will stay with the graduate and is mandatory for employment in all Exterminating Companies, Landscape Companies, Property Management, HOAs, Cities & Govt, and anyone that purchases or sprays chemicals in our environment. We process background checks, Arizona Department of Agriculture Application for the students, and assist them to take their exam for their certification and license. Students will graduate with 70% or better on exams and pass the State Exam. Graduates will receive a Certificate of Completion, State Certification and License from the Arizona Department of Agriculture OPM. Competencies to be achieved: Knowledge of laws and regulations of chemicals, how to treat weed pests and other environmental pests. Prep for State License Exams.
