Description
This training program provides up to 80 total clock hours of instruction consistent with the USDOT and FMCSA’s Entry-Level Driver Training (“ELDT”) Minimum Curricula Requirements and the Arizona Commercial Driver’s License Manual. This course has two primary sections, as follows:
- Theory – The student spends the first 40 clock hours of the course learning the fundamentals of commercial vehicle operations, including basic and advanced operation, safe operating practices, vehicle system and malfunctions, and non-driving activities. Students will also learn to safely transport hazardous materials and multiple trailers to obtain the appropriate endorsements for licensure.
- Practical Application – The student will spend 40 clock hours on the practice range and on the road learning about pre-and post-trip inspections, maneuvering, and safe driving practices.
While standard clock hours for this program are provided herein, this program is competency-based. Students will complete each instructional area at a pace consistent with their competency at the discretion of their instructional team.

Refund Policy
A full refund less direct costs will be made to a student who cancels enrollment within three days after the contract is signed or is denied enrollment. Students who cancel enrollment or are terminated after class begins, but before 50% completion, are entitled to a pro-rata reimbursement of tuition less direct costs. Students who cancel or are terminated after 50% completion shall not be entitled to a refund.
