Description
Medical assisting students will be trained in cognitive, psychomotor, and affective behavior areas for the purpose of preparing for entry-level positions normally available in a medical facility such as physicians’ offices, hospitals, urgent care facilities, or clinics. Students will be eligible to take the medical assisting certification exam at the conclusion of this program to obtain certification as a medical assistant.
Competencies to be achieved: The program provides the student with theory and hands-on training in basic and routine clinical and front office procedures. He/she will be able to conduct patient intakes, obtain vital signs, and perform phlebotomy, EKG, injections, and other clinical procedures. The medical assistant student will be able to demonstrate proficiency in administrative competencies such as scheduling, claims processing, and electronic health records management that bear on the practitioner’s relationship with the patient and that are required for entrance to this exciting career field.

1.All monies paid by the student will be fully refunded if the student chooses to withdraw from the school within the three-day period after having signed the enrollment contract.

If the student choses to withdraw after the three-day cancellation period, but before the first day of instruction, the application fee will be retained by the school.

If, after the three -day cancellation period expires, a student withdraws or is terminated after the instruction begins, tuition, minus the application fee will be determine as follows:

The percentage of the clock hours attempted is determined by dividing the total number of hours elapsed from the student’s start date to the student’s last day of attendance, by the total number
of clock hours in the program.

If the school closes or discontinues a course or program, the school will refund to each currently enrolled student all monies paid by the student for tuition and fees and all monies for which the student is liable for tuition and fees.

Students are requested, but not required, to notify the Director or designated school official if they are withdrawing from the school.

The date of withdrawal or termination is the last date of attendance by the student. Refunds are based on the student’s last date of attendance.

All refunds due will be paid within 30 days of the student’s last date of attendance.

Books, supplies purchased are the property of the student and are not refundable, except within the three-day cancellation period.
