A. Program Objective: Prepares individuals for employment in cybersecurity career pathways.


Description: In this course, you will learn about the basics of cybersecurity. This course is designed as an entry point for anyone who is interested in learning about cybersecurity and
introduces basic cybersecurity concepts and technology. You can then build on these concepts to explore more detailed cybersecurity topics. In this course, you will learn about the cyberthreat landscape. This includes the threats that endanger computer networks, the cast of bad actors who are behind these threats, and the cybersecurity first principles that, if followed, can keep you and your computer network safe. This course is designed as an entry point for individuals who are new
to cybersecurity.


Competencies to be achieved:
1. Fundamental Cybersecurity Concepts
a. Understanding of basic cybersecurity principles, including the threat landscape and the importance of network security.
b. Awareness of common security threats and best practices for maintaining security.
2. Knowledge of Fortinet Solutions
a. Familiarity with Fortinet Security Fabric and its key products like FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiManager.
b. Understanding how Fortinet solutions integrate to provide comprehensive security.
3. Network Security and FortiGate Basics
a. Basic understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and IPS.
b. Introduction to FortiGate firewall configuration and its role in securing network traffic.
